This miniature golf hole was built on a vacant lot in Brooklyn. Before any cleaning or construction, the exact footprint was photographed just as it was—trash, debris, rocks.
Those photographs became the playing surface, printed as a high-traffic decal. Players looked down and saw what had been there before, a reminder of the space’s past beneath their feet.
This piece was part of The Putting Lot, a miniature golf course and contemporary art installation.
Ghost Hole, 2009. Pavement decal, wood, plastic. 16 feet x 4 feet x 6 inches.
